STUDIO ETTIQUETTE

The below rules and etiquette are designed so we can provide you with a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Like any community we need to respect the space we are all sharing as well as follow all legal and insurance requirements we have to put in place to ensure everyone's safety in the studio.

Arrive on time for the warm-up

  • The warm up is designed to get your body ready for the workout  – it is really important. If you miss the warm-up, you will not be permitted to participate in the class. The warm-up is done to to keep you safe and prevent injury.

  • Let your instructor know if you are injured or anything that may affect your performance.

  • Be mindful of your body throughout class. If you are not comfortable performing a movement, advise the instructor. Know your limits (especially when you are getting tired/sweaty)!

  • When spotting ensure you are concentrating! You can never assume a person has grip and your job is to be ready to help them if they need it. If you are not comfortable spotting don’t do so, and just let the instructor know.

Don't moisturise on the day of your pole tricks class

Bottom line is - moisturiser on your skin will make you very slippery and unsafe on the pole, especially when you rely on your skin to hold you upside-down! So be sure to skip the moisturiser on the day before your pole class.

Jewellery

Be sure to take off all rings, bracelets, watches or other pieces of jewellery that might scratch the poles, as poles are super expensive and can be easily scratched. You can also catch your skin in between your jewellery and the pole which will be painful. Even belly bars, anklets and necklaces (which definitely need to come off!) can scratch the poles.

Wipe the Pole

Bottles of metho and microfibre cloths are provided to wipe down the poles. Please never spray the metho directly onto the pole - only spray onto the cloth and then wipe the pole. You can wipe the pole throughout your lesson if you need to remove grip, but always wipe the poles at the end of the lesson so they are fresh, clean and hygienic for the next person who uses them.

Filming & Social Media

We encourage filming your progress, and be sure to tag us in your insta and facebook posts! Please be sure to only film yourself and seek permission if you happen to film any other student in your videos.

Your instructor may ask if they can film the entire class for our social media. If you do not wish to be in the video, please let them know.

Studio

  • The studio is a shared environment, be respectful and supportive of your fellow students and staff.

  • If you see someone new in the studio, be sure to make them feel welcome!

  • All bags and belongings are to be left in the bag shelves, only drink bottles, sweat towels and pole cleaning items are required during your class. If your bags are left on the floor around the studio you may be asked to move them (to ensure no-one trips over things).

  • If you arrive early for a class, please wait in the shade-house or sunroom until your class starts.

  • Follow all reasonable directions given by staff.

  • If you require first aid please let a staff member know.
